125 Libraries, 73 Reading Corners In SDMC Schools


The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) said on Sunday that it has established 125 libraries and 73 reading areas in its schools to encourage pupils to read.

SDMC Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti stated that establishing "great" libraries will motivate children to read good and inspirational literature, resulting in a beneficial transformation in their lives.


Books are available for pupils of all ages studying in SDMC schools in these libraries, according to the commissioner.


The SDMC's education department has established 56 libraries in central zone schools, 39 in south zone schools, and 30 in west zone schools.

According to the statement, efforts are being made to open comparable libraries in Najafgarh zone schools as well.


Tughlakabad Extension, Kalkaji, Premnagar, Ashram in the Central Zone, Ambedkar Nagar, Khanpur, Deoli, Pushp Vihar, RK Puram in the South Zone, and Tagore Garden, Raghubir Nagar, Subhash Nagar in the West Zone are some of the prominent places where libraries have been established in corporation schools.
