IIT Delhi Launches Fundraising Campaign To Realize Institute's 2030 Vision

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched a fundraising effort in order to achieve the institute's 2030 objective. To commemorate IIT Delhi's 60th anniversary, the fundraising drive "Going Further, by Giving Back" is reaching out to its alumni all around the world. The IIT Delhi Endowment Fund has set a goal of gathering pledges from its over 54,000 global alumni to realise its ambitions moving forward from this 60-year milestone, according to an IIT Delhi statement.

Alumni can contribute amounts ranging from Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 61 lakhs over a five-year period. According to the IIT Delhi statement, the endeavour is inspired by the annual fund-raising tactics of some of the world's finest universities, which have garnered even higher levels of alumni and charitable money through their annual campaigns.

In order to meet its greater levels of teaching, research, and strategic goals, IIT Delhi has acknowledged the significance of diversifying its financing sources. Professor V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi, stated in a statement announcing the start of the "Going Further, by Giving Back" fundraising camp, "Since its founding in 1961, IIT Delhi has nurtured and encouraged those who desire to improve the world by doing things differently." That same foundational principle has gained even greater significance after 60 years by allowing outstanding people to make a genuine difference.

“Many of our alumni have a lot of love and care for the Institute, and we hope they use this chance to contribute and make a difference to their old mater,” said Professor Naveen Garg, Dean, Alumni Affairs and International Programs, IIT Delhi. “Alumni contributions to the Institute's Endowment Fund considerably enable and sustain what is feasible to do, and the speed at which it can be done,” said Mr. Arun Duggal, Chairman, IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation.
