Institution Of Engineering And Technology Announces India Scholarship Award 2021

To recognise future engineering professionals, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has announced the fifth edition of the India Scholarship Award 2021. The IET India Scholarship programme, which has a combined prize pool of Rs 5 lakh and is open to students from all AICTE, UGC-approved, and other national institutes, aims to recognise individual performance and innovation among undergraduate engineering students in India.

In 2013, IET India established the annual IET Scholarship Awards to demonstrate the organization's dedication to India's engineering community. The goal was to encourage young people to pursue careers in engineering and technology. To commemorate the IET's 150th anniversary, the IET India Scholarship Award is being re-launched in a digital format this year. All 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year undergraduate engineering students pursuing engineering at AICTE/UGC accredited institutions and national institutes are eligible for the awards.

“India fulfils a significant portion of the global engineering and technology workforce demands.. to bring back the IET India Scholarship Awards this year and can't wait to discover the next generation of engineering leaders who will help us solve some of the world's biggest challenges,” Toni Allen, Director of International, Strategic Marketing and Engagement, IET, said in a statement.

Participants are judged on a variety of factors, including academic performance, extracurricular activities, outreach efforts, and their ability to come up with engineering solutions to societal problems. Students are shortlisted in the first stage based on their academic performance and extracurricular activity.
