If you are in a mood for spiritual salvation and want to breakaway from the monotony of your corporate-job life, then you must visit Naddi. The quiet village of Naddi is situated in Himachal Pradesh.
One can reach Naddi by flight too, however, I chose to take a bus as I was travelling with my childhood buddy. It is situated in the upper portions of the Kangra valley at a height of 2000 metres above sea level. The Dalai Lama's home town of Mc Leod Ganj, a tourist haven for people from all over the world, is located about 3 kilometres from the hamlet.
Any Indian would be proud of this destination as one cannot simply ignore the ambience of pristine Himalayas that instantly connects you with the soul. McLeod Ganj may be the town center, but it was in Naddi Village where I enjoyed the serenity. That was a blissful experience.
Inside my hotel room, I finally had a closer view of the breathtaking Dhauladhar range. As you walk up Naddi, you are greeted with Naddi tribe who are a courteous, shy and beautiful people. The tribe here is popularly called as Gaddi, who are a semi-pastoral Indo-Aryan ethno-linguistic tribe. Gaddis primarily live on agriculture and goat farming.
