Topper Talk: JEE topper gives tips to crack JEE

Consistency and continuity were key factors in achieving a perfect score For She attributes her achievement to the hard effort she has put in over the last two years, as well as consistency and constancy.

“Although I joined the coaching programme to improve my knowledge of the topic as early as eighth grade, I had only dedicated myself to serious work in class XI. Pal, a student at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School who opted for FIITJEE tutoring, says, "I completed the assignments on time and attended for all the class tests at school and the coaching centers."

Pal adds that the last two years of virtual classes and online tests have aided the preparation. “Virtual lessons were beneficial to my preparation because they allowed me to get a realistic feel for the online JEE Mains. In addition, I had maintained consistency and thoroughly revised the themes presented by the teachers in the coaching centres. Two months of preparation is insufficient to pass such difficult exams.”

Pal had appeared for the JEE Main in February and with her 99.98 percentile, she had emerged as a UP state topper. “I was not satisfied with my performance and so I appeared for the JEE Main in July again where I scored 300/300.”

Pal dreams of becoming an Astronaut. Since the majority of the Astronauts are also trained pilots, Pal too had received a scholarship of Rs 70 lakhs from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida, USA to accomplish her dreams. However, she had to decline the offer as she was required to submit a fee of Rs 30 lakhs.

She now has an offer from IISC Banglore. However, she wants to try her luck in JEE Advanced as well to figure out if she wants to pursue her career in research or IIT Engineering.

Among the various accolades earned by Pal includes AIR- 1 in French Olympiad 2014 following which she had won a free trip to France for 10 days. She also won a Bronze medal in Southeast Asian Mathematics Olympiad 2018 and cleared the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO) 2020. She was also the SAT India top performer 2021.

Pal also has a younger brother who is studying in class XI. Her father Vishal Aggarwal is a businessman while her mother Dr Rakhi Aggarwal is a clinical psychologist.
