CBSE Board Class 10, 12 Exam 2021: The government announced on Wednesday that the CBSE Class 12 board exams have been postponed and the Class 10 exams have been cancelled, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with top officials from the Education Ministry.
“The results of the Class Xth Board will be prepared using an objective criteria that the Board will establish. “Any applicant who is dissatisfied with the marks assigned to him or her on this basis will be given the opportunity to sit in an exam as soon as the conditions are conducive to holding the exams,” the ministry said in a press release.
Officials from the ministry, on the other hand, stated that cancelling or conducting online exams for Class 12 students is not a choice. “CBSE is a nationwide organisation of students from all over the world. It is impossible to administer the exam online in a timely manner. “How would the student become so familiar with the online pattern in such a short period of time?” an official wondered.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi chief minister, urged the union government to rethink the exam schedule on Tuesday. Maharashtra has made a similar appeal, asking the Education Ministry to create a national consensus and probably reschedule CBSE and other school board exams in Class X and XII.
The demand has also gained support from the opposition. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, both members of the Congress, have emphasised the importance of education.
