Professor Mohd Zahid Ashraf, Head, Department of Biotechnology, amia Millia Islamia (JMI), will receive the Visitor's Award 2020. The professor will be recognised for his work in solving the puzzle of blood coagulation in high-altitude hypoxia. President Ram Nath Kovind will honour Professor Ashraf at a ceremony to be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Professor Ashraf will be honoured in the category of Biological Sciences. According to a JMI statement, his study has aided in the development of a technique for early detection and treatment of thrombosis in exceedingly difficult environmental conditions at high elevations. His research has contributed in the creation of a technique for early identification and treatment of thrombosis under extremely difficult environmental conditions at high elevations, according to a JMI release.
Professor Ashrah's achievements, according to JMI Vice Chancellor Najma Akhtar, are a recognition for the university's research accomplishments, and Professor Ashraf's achievements will inspire other faculty members to pursue greatness in research and academics.
