The National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Indian Institute of Ma
nagement (IIM) Kozhikode have partnered to provide professional training t
o women entrepreneurs as they begin their entrepreneurial careers, as well
as a chance for existing women entrepreneurs to augment and scale up th
eir businesses with professional mentoring.
"The Centre of Excellence for Social Innovation (CESI) of the Indian Institut
e of Management Kozhikode, in collaboration with NCW and MyGov.in, will
design and implement this collaborative online training programme to nurtur
e and build entrepreneurial capability among women entrepreneurs," the II
M Kozhikode said in a statement.
The programme will be offered bilingually in English and Malayalam to broa
den its appeal and make it more accessible.
Aspiring female entrepreneurs can now select between two programmes tai
lored to their specific vocations and skill sets:
Foundation Program in Entrepreneurship: This introductory programme is f
or women who are new to entrepreneurship and wish to get started.
It will strive to build the entrepreneurial abilities needed to spot a business
opportunity and start one, as well as the managerial skills needed to run a s
uccessful business.
Lectures, discussions, entrepreneurship speeches, and major mentoring fro
m diverse subject matter experts will all be part of the curriculum.
Advanced Entrepreneurship Program: The Advanced Entrepreneurship Pro
gram is for women entrepreneurs who desire to grow their firms.
It will attempt to improve their entrepreneurial skills by helping them fine-
tune their business strategy, increase their markets, obtain funding, and div
ersify their product or service offerings.
Furthermore, the curriculum will aid in the development of their managerial
abilities.
Lectures, discussions, entrepreneurship speeches, and major mentoring fro
m diverse subject matter experts will all be part of the curriculum.
Both online programmes are four months long, with four hours of sessions
each week.
It will last sixty hours, with forty hours dedicated to subject sessions and tw
enty hours dedicated to mentorship and question and answer sessions (Q&
A).

Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, announced the unique
partnership, saying, "Innovation and entrepreneurship are buzzwords that
will shape the history of the twenty-first century.
Entrepreneurship has long been a male-
dominated activity, with much fewer women opting for it as a means of emp
owerment.
We hope that collaborations like this will disrupt the current quo and unlock
the latent potential of women entrepreneurs.
It is now time to support women who want to start businesses and develop
the skills and views that will enable them to create and run sustainable firm
s that will improve the planet."
