Call On Maharashtra HSC (Class 12) Exams This Week: Varsha Gaikwad

Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra's school education minister, said on Wednesday that a proposal regarding the state board exams for Class 12 students had been given to the disaster management authority, and that a decision on the matter would be made in a few days. Ms Gaikwad said the subject was raised in a state cabinet meeting a day after the CBSE Class 12 board exams were cancelled by the Centre, citing security concerns.

Ms Gaikwad told reporters following the cabinet meeting that a proposal about the Class 12 state board examinations had been given to the disaster management authority. A meeting of the authority will be held, and a decision will be made in a "few of days."

"The health and safety of pupils are our top priorities. They're up against two obstacles: the curriculum and the epidemic "Ms. Gaikwad explained. Ms Gaikwad stated that the government's previous position on conducting state board exams for Class 12 students has not changed. "However, we must await official confirmation from the disaster management administration," the minister stated.

"For the society, this is an unusual scenario (a reference to a pandemic). As a result, some unusual decisions must be made "Ms Varsha Gaikwad expressed her thoughts. When asked about her previous discussion with the Union government concerning Maharashtra's position on Class 12 exams, the minister stated, "The situation in the state was critical with the rising number of COVID-19 cases."
