CBSE extends registration deadline for affiliation during academic session 2022-23

For the academic session 2022-23, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the registration deadline for affiliation under various categories. The deadline has been extended until June 30 due to CBSE's reorganisation under the School Affiliation Re-engineered Automation System (SARAS). On March 1, 2021, the scheme went into operation.

“After careful consideration and analysis of the existing COVID-19 situation, the first window date for fresh affiliation, up-gradation of affiliation, and extension of affiliation for the session 2022-23 has been extended until June 30, 2021, without any late fees,” according to the official notification.

The deadline to apply for CBSE membership was previously set for April 30, but it has been extended due to the pandemic.

The affiliation scheme has been restructured by the board to accommodate the current National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Since 2006, the CBSE affiliation process has been performed entirely online. The restructured framework would be done entirely online as well.

The CBSE announced earlier this month that the class 10 board exams would be cancelled and that the class 12 board exams would be postponed. After reviewing the situation on June 1, a decision on class 12 board exams will be made.
