Chacha Chaudhary Champions 'Har Ghar Jal, Sabka Haq' in New Water Conservation Comic

New Delhi, July 10 – Diamond Toons, the publisher behind India’s beloved comic hero Chacha Chaudhary, has unveiled a powerful new talking comic titled Chacha Chaudhary – Har Ghar Jal, Sabka Haq. The comic aims to raise awareness about water sustainability and promote the government’s ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission, which seeks to ensure piped water supply to every household in India.

The launch event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Shri C.R. Patil, Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti; Shri Ashok K.K. Meena, Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DDWS); and Shri Kamal Kishore Soan, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission. Applauding the initiative, the dignitaries highlighted the role of comics as an impactful medium to engage the masses—especially children—in the mission for water conservation.

Available in multiple Indian languages, the comic’s storyline sees Chacha Chaudhary encouraging citizens to become ‘Water Warriors’ and save every drop. The launch is part of a wider series of “talking comics” by Diamond Toons that cover critical water-related themes such as Value of Water, Water Management, Pollution, Rainwater Harvesting, and Greywater Reuse.

Speaking at the event, Shri C.R. Patil noted, “As water becomes more accessible, our responsibility to conserve it grows. Through Chacha Chaudhary, Diamond Toons has played a unique role in spreading awareness under Jal Jeevan Mission.”

Shri Ashok K.K. Meena emphasized the need to reach young minds, saying, “It’s essential that children understand the value of water and the need for conservation. This comic makes that learning both impactful and accessible.”

Echoing the sentiment, Shri Kamal Kishore Soan said, “This comic offers an engaging format to connect with youth and build serious awareness on water issues. It’s a valuable tool for our outreach efforts.”

Manish Verma, Director, Diamond Toons, highlighted the comic’s widespread impact, stating, “Children are change-makers. Chacha Chaudhary continues to be a powerful influence, and this series aims to embed values of water sustainability through school programs, libraries, animation, digital platforms, and more.”

The comic has been developed with creative guidance from Narender Kumar Verma, and inputs from experts including Dr. Syamal Kumar Sarkar (TERI) and Dr. Ravindra Bohra, with contributions from young environmental voices Amaara Verma and Abeer Verma.
