CWG: "Well Done, Amazing Achievement": David Warner Congratulates PV Sindhu


PVSindhu gave India the perfect start by winning the women's singles badminton gold medal on the opening day of the Commonwealth Games. In the final two, Sindhu defeated Michelle Li of Canada 21-15, 21-13 to win her maiden singles gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Notably, Sindhu earned a silver medal in singles in the most recent Commonwealth Games and a silver medal in 2018 Asian Games. David Warner, a batter for Australia, congratulated Sindhu on winning her maiden gold medal at the CWG after the match.

Sindhu had won the silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics and followed it up with a bronze in the Tokyo Olympics.


Sindhu had won a gold medal in the mixed team event of the 2018 CWG. She had also won a bronze medal in the 2014 CWG in women's singles.

Sindhu, by far India's most decorated singles player, had little difficulty against her Canadian opponent in the final.
