The dairy industry has now been raised to the level of a full-fledged industry due to the advent of new technology. Modern dairy management is distinguished by the application of management science concepts to the dairy industry.
Dairy management courses in India concentrate on providing students with basic information about dairy farm production, planning, and management; entrepreneurship development in milk preservation; entrepreneurship development in dairy processing; and dairy farm, co-operative, and industry management.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to undertake dairy technology and management courses in India must have completed 10+2 with Science and scored at least the required average. Such courses are chosen on the basis of a national or state-level entrance test. One can obtain a Master's degree in dairy engineering or any other dairy technology discipline after successfully completing dairy technology courses. Universities usually need a B.Sc or B.Tech degree for postgraduate courses like M.Tech in dairy technology.
Candidates who have completed a B.V.Sc. and Biotechnology courses are also excluded from dairy technology graduation courses. Candidates in this situation will enrol in Master's degree programmes right away.
Salary
Although the pay in this sector is not as high as in other management fields at first, there is a great deal of satisfaction associated with it. A starting salary of Rs 6,000-10,000 per month is to be expected.
