Delhi govt to merge 13 Institutes to create Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has merged 13 government institutions to create the Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University to boost higher and technical education.

10 Government institutions to be merged

The institutions which will be merged include 10 government institutions of technology, Delhi Institute of Tool engineering and Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College. As per the statement issued by the government, the merging will help in streamlining skill education in the city.

DU College of Arts and Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management to be merged

The state government has also approved the merging of Delhi University's College of Arts and Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management which will now be a part of Dr BR Ambedkar University. hR cabinet has also announced the establishment of the government's new world-class skill centre at Pushp Vihar to provide skill opportunities for the students and raise their employability in the new and emerging sectors.

The statement also mentions that the cabinet has sanctioned Rs. 9.9 Crore for the new centre which is a part of the vision of the government to establish 25 World Class Skill Centres all over Delhi.
