DUSU Polls 2025: Voting Begins Today for Delhi University Students’ Union Elections

The much-anticipated Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections are being held today, with over 2.75 lakh students eligible to cast their votes. Known as one of the country’s biggest student polls, the results will determine the student leadership for the upcoming academic year.
Polling Schedule
According to the official notification, voting will take place in two shifts:
8:30 am to 1 pm for day scholars
3 pm to 7:30 pm for evening college students
Counting of votes will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Main Contenders for President
The battle for the top post is shaping up to be a triangular contest between three student groups:
ABVP (affiliated with the RSS) – Candidate: Aryan Maan, MA Library Science
NSUI (backed by the Congress) – Candidate: Joslyn Nandita Choudhary, Postgraduate in Buddhist Studies
SFI-AISA alliance (supported by Left groups) – Candidate: Anjali, student of Indraprastha College for Women
Each group has released manifestos promising reforms, inclusivity, and enhanced student welfare.
Voter Eligibility
First-year students: Can vote with a valid fee receipt plus one government-issued ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, or Driving License), if their college ID hasn’t been issued.
Second- and third-year students: Must carry a valid college identity card.
Cut-off date: Students admitted before September 9, 2025, 5 pm are eligible to vote.
Security Measures
To ensure free and fair polling, Delhi Police has deployed over 600 personnel across the university campus. Of these, 160 officers will be equipped with body-worn cameras to monitor proceedings closely.
