‘Fear in DMK Camp?’ Khushbu Fires Big Salvo as Sundar C’s Madurai Entry Triggers Political Heat

In a fiery political counterattack amid the Tamil Nadu election battle, Khushbu Sundar on Friday declared that her husband Sundar C’s electoral debut in Madurai Central has already sent shockwaves through rival camps, claiming the ruling party’s supporters are visibly rattled by his rise. Sundar C was formally fielded by Puthiya Needhi Katchi (PNK) from Madurai Central under the AIADMK’s iconic Two Leaves symbol, making his contest one of the most closely watched celebrity-political entries this election season. Taking to X in a direct political jab, Khushbu wrote, “I understand the fear #SundarC has evoked in the so-called supporters of the ruling party. I like it.” The statement instantly fueled speculation that the DMK sees Sundar C as a serious challenger in what has long been a politically sensitive constituency. (Hindustan Times)

In a more explosive Instagram post, Khushbu escalated the attack, saying even a “learned politician” appears shaken by Sundar C’s sudden political rise, suggesting that his candidature has already altered the narrative in Madurai.

“A ‘learned’ politician seems rattled by the entry of Mr. #SundarC into politics, and that itself speaks volumes.”

The remark is being seen as a direct signal that the NDA-backed AIADMK-PNK alliance believes Sundar C’s entry has changed the ground equations in Madurai Central, where the contest is expected to be fierce. (The Times of India)

Khushbu Rejects ‘Outsider’ Attack

Hitting back at critics branding Sundar C an outsider, Khushbu turned the debate into a larger emotional and political message on identity and belonging.

“It is not birth, but belonging that defines us. It is not origin, but commitment that matters.”

Calling him “a son of Tamil Nadu,” she argued that Sundar C’s long-standing connection with the state’s culture, people, and aspirations makes him a natural representative of Madurai’s voice. (Hindustan Times)

Battle for Madurai Intensifies

Khushbu ended with a direct appeal to the electorate, framing the Madurai contest as a test of whether politics can rise above labels and divisive narratives.

“Let the people of Madurai choose the one who genuinely wishes to serve.”

With campaign temperatures rising and attacks already turning personal, Sundar C’s debut is fast emerging as one of the flashpoints of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. (The Times of India)
