Finland President Alexander Stubb Praises ‘Dhurandhar’ Ahead of Sequel Release

The stage is set for the release of the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, which is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19. Interestingly, Alexander Stubb, the President of Finland, revealed that he recently watched the film before arriving in India.

Speaking to Asian News International (ANI) during his official visit, Stubb shared that he watched the movie on the recommendation of his son.

“Interestingly enough, before I came to India, my son suggested that I should watch Dhurandhar, and I did. And of course, I was one part of the narrative. I am happy to fight against terrorism and look forward to the sequel on March 19,” Stubb said.

Strong Advance Bookings for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’

Advance bookings for the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, opened on Saturday and have already shown strong momentum.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has collected around ₹12.29 crore in advance bookings across all languages in India. The total climbs to approximately ₹18.1 crore when block bookings are included.

The film is also performing well overseas, particularly in United States and Canada. For the U.S. premieres alone, more than 38,500 tickets have been sold across 557 locations, generating about $618,911 (around ₹5.15 crore).

Trailer Promises High-Octane Action

The recently released trailer showcases Ranveer Singh returning in a more intense and ferocious avatar, driven by revenge. The film features him in dual roles—Jaskirat and Hamza—and promises a spectacle packed with high-octane action and dramatic confrontations.

The original Dhurandhar, released in December last year, went on to become the highest-grossing film of the year and set a record as the highest-grossing film in a single language.

The sequel sees the return of its star-studded cast, including Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, alongside Ranveer Singh.

With strong advance bookings and growing buzz, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is gearing up for a massive opening at the box office.
