Goa board to take final decision on postponed Class 10, 12 exams after April 30

A senior official said on Tuesday that the future of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education's (GBSHSE) class 10 and 12 exams will be determined after April 30.

The exams were set to begin on April 24, but were postponed on April 21 after a state government order citing an increase in COVID-19 cases.

“After postponing class 10 and 12 tests, we've decided to take a wait-and-see approach. The future of these exams will be determined after April 30 in light of the state's pandemic situation, according to GBSHSE chairperson Bhagirath Shetye. Narayan Desai, a Goa-based educationist and former school principal, said that given the current situation, there was no choice but to postpone the exams, adding that the constant change from online to offline and hybrid modes of education was a problem that was affecting students.
