New Delhi, March 10, 2025 – The Union government has introduced AI Kosha, a platform designed to house non-personal datasets that will aid in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models and tools. Launched on Thursday, the platform currently hosts 316 datasets, with a significant portion dedicated to supporting the creation and validation of language translation tools for Indian languages.
AI Kosha is part of the IndiaAI Datasets Platform, one of the seven core pillars of the IndiaAI Mission—the government’s flagship initiative to advance AI research and innovation. The IndiaAI Mission has been allocated a budget of ₹10,370 crore.
Last month, as part of the mission’s Compute Capacity pillar, the government announced pooled access to Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) for startups and academic institutions, facilitating AI model training and deployment.
