IGNOU Launches Online Re-Registration Portal For Continuing Students

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has opened the re-registration process for the January 2026 academic session starting today (December 1). Students can submit their re-registration forms on the official website ignou.ac.in until January 15, 2026. The window is open to all learners enrolled in online and distance learning programmes.
IGNOU has activated its online re-registration system, enabling students to update personal details, choose courses, and pay fees digitally. The university has reiterated that re-registration is mandatory for all existing students who wish to continue their studies in the next academic session.
Students have been advised to carefully select their courses, as any modifications later may delay academic progression. The university has also urged learners not to wait until the last day to avoid technical issues arising from heavy traffic on the portal.
Upon successful submission, students must download and save the confirmation page and payment receipt for future reference.
Payments can be made securely via debit/credit cards, net banking, or UPI. In case of payment delays, learners are advised to wait before retrying the transaction. If a duplicate payment is made, IGNOU has assured that the excess amount will be automatically refunded.
International Division students can also apply using the online payment methods available in their region and must follow the same steps as domestic applicants.
