IIM-Ahmedabad virtually inaugurates 16th batch of the MBA-PGPX programme



Because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) announced the start of the 16th batch of the MBA-PGPX programme today. The MBA-PGPX is a full-time, residential Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives that lasts one year.

The MBA-PGPX software is designed to help high-performing professionals move up the corporate ladder faster, as well as entrepreneurs scale up and develop their businesses.


“The world is in need of visionaries and leaders who recognise the evolving dynamics of the industry and are prepared to leverage these changes in leading their organisations successfully,” said Viswanath Pingali, Chairperson, MBA-PGPX. In light of the current situation, we will deliver this curriculum in a virtual format for the time being.”


The MBA- PGPX Class of 2021- 22 is made up of professionals with varied backgrounds and work experience in pharma, retail, transportation, travel and hospitality, telecom, academia, manufacturing and engineering, consultancy, IT, BFSI, not-for-profit, real estate and infrastructure, FMCG, energy and services, defence, aviation, advertising, and entertainment.

The class as a whole has an overall GMAT score of 701 and more than 8 years of work experience. An total of 14 students have at least three years of international work experience, while 30 students have at least one year of international work experience. A total of 34 female students are enrolled in the programme.


Since its inception in 2006, the MBA-PGPX has graduated over 1,500 students. The curriculum has seen a steady rise in interested students, which has resulted in an increase in the number of students enrolled. The increased student enrollment has increased classroom diversity, allowing for stronger peer learning.
