IIT Delhi, NLU Delhi Discuss Opportunities In Technology, Law; To Sign MoU Soon



On May 25, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the National Law University Delhi hosted a virtual faculty session to discuss research and academic collaboration potential in the disciplines of law and technology. According to an official release, both universities are in the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for multidisciplinary and collaborative teaching and research.


According to an official release, the meeting also discussed specific academic and research projects between IIT Delhi and NLU Delhi. Professor Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice-Chancellor of NLU Delhi, addressed the faculty, emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary, interprofessional, and international higher education. “This aligns with National Education Policy 2020, which promotes interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.”


The workshop highlighted combined supervision of PhD projects, student auditing of courses at both universities, collaborative certificate programmes, and training courses for industry experts or government agencies, according to an IIT Delhi statement. Faculty representatives from both universities discussed possible areas of collaboration. They discussed their research and the potential for future collaborations in areas such intellectual property rights, science diplomacy, criminal law, artificial intelligence, forensic science, and statistics, according to the statement.

NLU Delhi's Dr. Arul George Scaria recommended further dialogue between the two parties.
