New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort on Friday with a vibrant saffron-themed ensemble, continuing his tradition of showcasing India’s cultural heritage through his attire.

For this year’s occasion, the Prime Minister donned an orange turban in the safa or pagri style, paired with a white kurta and an orange Nehru jacket-style waistcoat matching the turban. A stole in the tricolour—saffron, white, and green—was draped around his neck, symbolising the national flag.

Over the years, each Independence Day appearance by the Prime Minister has featured distinctive outfits reflecting the nation’s rich traditions and regional styles.
