Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei Killed in Joint US-Israeli Strikes on Tehran

Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has been killed following large-scale joint military strikes by the United States and Israel, according to confirmations from Iranian state media. The coordinated attacks, described as among the most extensive against Iranian targets in decades, reportedly targeted key sites in the capital.

State broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) announced on Sunday morning, “The Supreme Leader of Iran has reached martyrdom.”

Media reports indicate that the 86-year-old leader was killed in his office during the early hours of Saturday. State television said his death at his workplace demonstrated that he “stood among the people and at the forefront of his responsibilities,” confronting what officials described as global arrogance.

Earlier, citing an Israeli official, The Times of Israel reported that Khamenei was killed in an Israeli strike on his compound in Tehran on Saturday morning. A senior Israeli official was quoted as saying that his body had been recovered from the site.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was shown an image of Khamenei’s body after it was retrieved from the compound.
