MEXT Scholarship applications are being accepted online by the Japanese government. The registration process is currently open for four kinds of students: research students, undergraduate students, college of technology students, and students pursuing specialised training.
Candidates have until May 28 to apply for these scholarships.
The goal of these scholarship programmes is to “accept excellent human resources from foreign countries, including India, to Japan as international students, to promote mutual understanding and form human networks, to strengthen the educational and research capabilities of Japanese universities, and to make international intellectual contributions,” according to a notification issued by the Japanese government.
“Due to the current situation with COVID-19, the application procedure may be amended or suspended at a later stage, and the Embassy may completely cancel the selection of candidates for the scholarship programmes for the academic year 2022,” it said.
