New Delhi:Registrations for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) 2026 Session 1 are currently underway. The exam will be held in two phases — Session 1 from January 21 to 30, 2026, and Session 2 from April 1 to 10, 2026. JEE Main 2026 will include Paper 1 and Paper 2, and the National Testing Agency (NTA) has also released a detailed set of FAQs for candidates.

Exam Dates
Session 1: January 21–30, 2026
Session 2: April 2–9, 2026
Separate Forms for Each Session?Yes. Candidates must fill out separate application forms for each session. Currently, applications are open only for Session 1. Dates for Session 2 applications will be announced later.
Missed Session 1?Candidates who don’t apply for the January session can still apply for Session 2 when the portal opens.
Appearing in One or Both SessionsIt’s optional. Candidates may appear in either one or both sessions. If they appear in both, the best NTA score will be used for ranking.
Calculator UseNot allowed in any form during the examination.
Are DigiLocker Documents Accepted?Yes. DigiLocker documents can be uploaded in the application form.
Class 12 Improvement CandidatesSuch candidates should select the option ‘Passed’.
Pin Code for OCI/PIO CandidatesForeign national candidates should enter 111111 in the Pin Code field.
Aadhaar OTP IssuesThe OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Candidates must ensure the linked number is active.
Mismatch Between Class 10 Marksheet & Aadhaar Name?This will not affect candidature.
Is APAAR ID Mandatory?No.
Live Photo Not Matching Aadhaar Photo?NTA will review mismatches. Only major discrepancies will be flagged via email or SMS.
Eligibility & Certificates for PwD/PwBD CandidatesCandidates must follow the RPwD Act, 2016 guidelines and instructions issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. Details are available in the Information Bulletin.
Using a ScribeCandidates must follow the guidelines in Chapter 4 of the Information Bulletin. In the undertaking certificate, fields like Roll Number and Centre Name should be left blank to be filled at the exam centre.
Category Certificate UploadUploading the certificate is not mandatory. Candidates must enter:

Issuing AuthorityIf the certificate is not yet issued, acknowledgement details may be entered. The certificate must be produced during admission.
Clash With Other ExamsNTA will not change exam dates or shifts in case of a clash with any other national or state-level examination.
Correction of Application DetailsA one-time correction window will be available for select fields.
Can the Application Be Cancelled?No. Once submitted, the application cannot be withdrawn or cancelled.
Admit Card Not Received?Admit cards must be downloaded from the official website. For assistance, candidates may call 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in.
Fee Payment IssuesIf the Confirmation Page is not generated, candidates must repay the fee. Any excess amount from failed transactions will be refunded later.
How Will Confirmation Page & Scorecard Be Sent?Both documents will be emailed to the registered email IDs of candidates and their parents.
