ree

The Left Unity panel has achieved a resounding victory in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) Elections 2025, winning all four central posts and reaffirming its long-standing ideological influence on the JNU campus — often regarded as a hub of student political activity in India.

Aditi Mishra of Left Unity emerged as the new JNUSU President, securing 1,937 votes against ABVP’s Vikas Patel, who received 1,488 votes, marking a winning margin of 449 votes.

For the post of Vice President, K. Gopika registered a commanding victory with 3,101 votes, leaving ABVP’s Tanya Kumari trailing with 1,787 votes.

The General Secretary race proved to be the closest contest of this election, with Sunil Yadav (Left Unity) narrowly defeating ABVP’s Rajeshwar Kant Dubey by just 24 votes — 2,005 to 1,981.

Rounding off the clean sweep, Danish Ali of Left Unity won the Joint Secretary position with 2,083 votes, surpassing ABVP’s Anuj Damara, who secured 1,797 votes.

The results underscore yet another strong endorsement of Left-backed student politics at JNU, cementing its continued organizational strength and ideological resonance among students.
