Delhi Will Become a World Leader in Skill Training: Manish Sisodia

Manish Sisodia, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister, said on Saturday that the city government is working to make the national capital a global leader in skills training. Mr Sisodia and Professor (Dr) Neharika Vohra, Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), visited the university's Dwarka campus and the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Nizamuddin to inspect the on-ground events of Delhi's first-ever state level competitions for the 'WorldSkills' to be held in Shanghai in 2022.

Over 1,400 athletes from over 60 countries and regions will compete in over 60 talents at the 'WorldSkills' Competition in Shanghai. Bakery, 3D digital game art, aviation maintenance, autobody repair, vehicle technology, and other abilities are among them.

"Previously, Delhi's youth had to travel to different states to compete in the world's largest skill competition. We are honoured that the Delhi government's DSEU is organising the first state-level competitions to choose individuals who will represent the state in regional rounds "he stated

"The Kejriwal government is working hard to make Delhi a global leader in skill development. By giving this platform to kids, we are attempting to increase the state's competence level. I'm glad to see so many youthful faces among the participants, working on equipment and combining their hands, minds, and hearts to not only accomplish but also personalise the projects while also managing time ".

According to Dr. Vohra, India initially competed in the 'WorldSkills' in 2007 and has since won many medals at each tournament. "We hope that after qualifying for the state competitions, the Delhi skill stars would qualify for the next stages and represent both Delhi and India in 'WorldSkills' Shanghai 2022," she said.
