MSDE Opens Registrations for IndiaSkills 2025, Seeks Nation’s Best Young Talent

New Delhi, July 29 — The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has officially launched registrations for the IndiaSkills Competition 2025, inviting young professionals from across the country to compete in one of India’s most prestigious vocational contests. The registration window is open until September 30, 2025, via the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) at skillindiadigital.gov.in.

Held every two years, the IndiaSkills Competition aims to identify and celebrate the nation's top talent across a diverse range of skills. Participants from all 36 states and union territories will go head-to-head in 63 skill categories, spanning from traditional crafts to emerging technologies such as Cyber Security, Mechatronics, and Aircraft Maintenance.

Boost for Vocational Education

Launched in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, which highlights vocational training as a vital parallel to academic education, the competition is designed to raise awareness and interest in skill-based careers. It also serves as a pipeline for preparing India’s representatives for the WorldSkills Competition 2026.

Who Can Apply

  • Age: 16–25 years (born on or after January 1, 2004)

    • For select advanced-tech skills, the age limit extends to born on or after January 1, 2001

  • Nationality: Indian nationals only

  • Registration: One skill per candidate, via the SIDH portal

Multi-Tiered Selection Process

IndiaSkills 2025 will unfold through a four-stage selection process:

  1. State-Level Competitions (Track I)Organized by State Skill Development Missions to shortlist top talent locally.

  2. Sector Skill Council Events (Track II)For skills not covered by states, Sector Skill Councils will conduct competitions at the national level.

  3. Regional Skill CompetitionsWinners from both tracks will compete in five zonal rounds: North, South, East, West, and Northeast.

  4. National Finals & Boot CampsRegional winners will undergo intensive training and mentoring before the IndiaSkills 2025 National Competition, hosted centrally by MSDE.

Top performers at the national level will be groomed to represent India on global platforms, including the WorldSkills 2026 competition.
