NEET UG 2025: NTA Flags 122 Social Media Accounts for Spreading Misinformation

In a significant crackdown on misinformation surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) – NEET UG 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has identified 106 Telegram channels and 16 Instagram accounts allegedly involved in spreading fake news related to the exam, according to sources.

The move comes amid rising concerns over unverified claims, including rumors of paper leaks, that have been circulating widely across social media platforms. The Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs is currently investigating these cases.

Earlier, the NTA launched a dedicated portal to encourage the public to report suspicious content or individuals spreading misleading information about NEET UG. To date, the agency has received nearly 1,500 reports, with the majority linked to Telegram groups.

“This initiative aligns with the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, which aims to curb unfair practices in public examinations and safeguard the aspirations of genuine candidates,” the NTA said in a statement.

Suspicious claims can be reported on the portal until 5 PM on May 4, 2025.

The NEET UG 2025 examination is scheduled for May 4, and will be conducted in a single shift from 2 PM to 5 PM. The exam city slips and admit cards have already been released.

Candidates can download their admit cards by logging into the official website: neet.nta.nic.in.If candidates face any issues in accessing their admit cards, they are advised to contact NTA at 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 or email at neetug2025@nta.ac.in.
