Assamese Dictionary "Hemkosh" in Braille has been sent to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by Shri Jayanta Baruah. Hemkosh was one of the first Assamese dictionaries, published in the nineteenth century. Shri Jayanta Baruah and his colleagues received praise from Shri Modi for their efforts that resulted in the publishing of the Braille edition.
The Prime Minister stated in a tweet;
"I'm happy to have acquired a copy of "Hemkosh," one of the earliest Assamese dictionaries from the 19th century, in Braille. I commend Mr. Jayanta Baruah and his group for their work in getting the Braille edition published."
