Professor Rajendra Srivastava, former dean and Novartis Chair Professor of Marketing Strategy and Innovation at the Indian School of Business (ISB), received the AIMA-Kewal Nohria Award for academic leadership in Management at the All India Management Association's 48th National Management Convention (AIMA).
“It is an honour to earn the 2021 AIMA- Kewal Nohria Award for academic leadership in management education,” Srivastava said of obtaining the award. I was fortunate enough to spend time in four universities on four continents during my 40-year academic career. In the process, I've gained a lot of knowledge about the sector. My study in business models, brand equity, and, in particular, business performance, where I looked at ways to harness technology to improve profitability, growth, and resilience, was guided by industry ideas. We need to develop linkages between academia and business.”
Between 2015 to 2021, Srivastava was the dean of ISB, and he is now the Novartis Professor of Marketing Strategy and Innovation at ISB. He is noted with modernising ISB's curriculum and teaching methods, as well as collaborating closely with industry to develop new study and research programmes. In addition, he has experience in competitive market dynamics and brand equity management.
He has previously served as provost and vice president of Singapore Management University, senior associate dean of Emory University's Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, and senior associate dean of the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs Business School.
