Rajasthan Government Announces Financial Package For Children Orphaned by COVID



The Rajasthan government provided a financial package on Saturday for Covid orphaned children and women who lost their husbands to the disease.

According to an official announcement, children whose parents died of the disease would receive an immediate gift of Rs 1 lakh, followed by a monthly payment of Rs 2,500 until they reach the age of 18. On reaching the age of 18, such children will be eligible for a Rs 5 lakh grant, as well as free higher secondary education and other benefits under the Mukhyamantri Corona Bal Kalyan Yojna.


According to the official statement, women whose husbands died of the virus will receive an ex gratia of Rs 1 lakh and a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500.

It also stated that Rs 1,000 per month will be given to the widows' children, as well as Rs 2,500 per month for school books and clothing. Female college students would be given preferred entry to the Deparment's hostels.
