Schools Closed in Delhi As Rains Lash

Delhi-NCR witnessed waterlogging in numerous areas leading to long traffic snarls as police struggled to decongest roads after heavy rains lashed Delhi NCR, disrupting normal life in the region.

India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in the national capital for today, September 23, cautioning people about moderate rain in most places.

In view of the inclement weather, Noida schools will remain closed for today for students of Classes 1 to 8. In Haryana, Government’s Disaster Management Authority also released a notice asking offices and corporates in Gurgaon to ask employees to work from home on Friday, as far as possible.

As for Delhi school holiday, no official announcement has been made. Many private schools, however, have sent notices to parents, informing them that the schools would remain closed. Similar is the case in Gurgaon and Faridabad district where many private schools have announced the holiday.
