Supreme Court Invites Applications for 30 Court Master Posts

The Supreme Court of India has announced recruitment for the post of Court Master (Shorthand) for 2025. According to the official notification (No. F.6/RC(CM)-2025, dated July 28, 2025), a total of 30 vacancies have been released for this gazetted post.
Vacancy DetailsOut of the 30 posts, 16 are for the Unreserved category, 4 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 2 for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 8 for Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non-Creamy Layer).
Pay ScaleThe position falls under Pay Level 11 of the Pay Matrix, carrying an initial basic salary of ₹67,700 plus allowances.
Eligibility CriteriaApplicants must be between 30 and 45 years of age and hold a degree from a recognised university. They should also possess shorthand proficiency in English at 120 words per minute, a typing speed of 40 words per minute on computer, and at least five years of experience in stenography or secretarial work. Candidates with a Law degree from a recognised university will be given preference.
Selection ProcessThe recruitment will be conducted in four stages – a Shorthand Test, an Objective Type Written Test, a Typing Speed Test on Computer and an Interview.

Application ProcessApplications can be submitted online only through the official website www.sci.gov.in. Registration dates will be announced shortly. Candidates must pay a fee of ₹1,500 (General category) or ₹750 (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-servicemen and Dependents of Freedom Fighters) via the UCO Bank payment gateway.
