With the COVID-19 situation remaining worrisome in the state, the Tamil Nadu State Government has decided to hold upcoming semester exams for college and university students in an online format.
As per the official update, all state universities including engineering, arts and science and polytechnic in Tamil Nadu have been directed to hold December Semester Exams in Online Mode. State Government has ordered all upcoming semester exams for higher education institutions to be held virtually between 1st and 20th February 2022.
Announcement by TN Education Minister
The decision to hold TN December Semester Exam 2022 in online format was announced by Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy in a press meeting recently. In the media interaction, Mr Ponmudy said that Tamil Nadu universities will hold the semester exams online from 1 to 20 February 2022. During the same press meet, Dr. Ponmudy also informed that while December Semester exams are being held online, no decision has been taken about final semester exams, which are to be held in June – July 2022 months. He also added that authorities will try to hold Final Semester Exams for University students in an offline format, but the final decision will be taken after analyzing the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the state.
Higher Education Minister also directed educational institutions to make necessary logistical arrangements for the same. He directed all universities and colleges to ensure that students do not follow any malpractices. The minister also requested students not to indulge in any unfair practices.
