Vijay should lead As People Have Chosen Their Leader: BJP’s Khushbu Sundar Backs Vijay For CM Post

Amid the intense political uncertainty over government formation in Tamil Nadu, BJP leader and actress Khushbu Sundar has openly backed actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay as the state’s next Chief Minister, saying the people’s mandate must be respected.

Taking to X, Khushbu declared that Vijay should be invited to lead the government, arguing that the electorate had clearly chosen him as their leader.

“As a citizen of Tamil Nadu, when people have chosen their CM, he should lead,” she wrote, tagging Vijay’s official handle.

Her statement comes at a politically crucial moment, with coalition talks and power negotiations continuing behind closed doors following the fractured verdict in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Khushbu’s endorsement is being seen as significant not only because of her position in the BJP, but also because it reflects the growing cross-party acknowledgment of Vijay’s political emergence as a major force in Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan had also extended support to Vijay’s TVK, warning that denying him the opportunity to form the government would amount to disregarding the people’s mandate.

“If he is not invited to form the government, it will be disrespect towards the verdict of the people,” Kamal Haasan had said.

The backing from influential film personalities-turned-politicians has further intensified the political momentum around Vijay, whose dramatic electoral debut has already reshaped Tamil Nadu’s political landscape and challenged the long-standing dominance of the DMK and AIADMK.
