7-Year-Old Aavya Kashyap Wins Silver at National Sub-Junior Taekwondo Championship in Delhi

New Delhi — Seven-year-old Aavya Kashyap U from Delhi won a silver medal at the 39th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi and 14th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship, held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium here.
The national-level championship is being organised by the Delhi Taekwondo Association, affiliated with the Delhi Olympic Association, and has brought together young Taekwondo athletes from across the country.
Praising her performance, AAvya’s coach Soniya Johar, who coaches the Delhi team, said, “Aavya Kashyap has been very dedicated to her training. I am really proud of her.”
Kyorugi is the combat or sparring discipline of Taekwondo, while Poomsae focuses on structured forms and techniques, similar to Kata in other martial arts.

Other notable performers from Delhi include Dhruv Mair, who won a silver medal in the Under-23 kg category

and Vishemtak Kumar, who secured a bronze medal in the Under-38 kg category.

The event was organised yesterday in the national capital, where BJP legislator and former Manipur Rural Development Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday inaugurated the 39th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi and 14th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium.
The championship continues to serve as a major platform for nurturing young Taekwondo talent at the national level.
