Assam's Don Bosco University announced a Rs 4 crore grant for students of all categories for the academic year 2021-22.
Vice-Chancellor Stephen Mavely of Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) stated the maximum scholarship per course is Rs 4.6 lakh, while the minimum is Rs 30,000.
"We have scholarships for all categories of students. A range of financial assistance is offered depending on merit, economic background and reservation status," he told reporters.
"Because we value co-curricular activities, we will provide scholarships of Rs 10.4 lakh under the sports quota, as well as awards to bright kids under the cultural quota," he explained.
According to the vice-chancellor, around 1,300-1,400 students, including those enrolled in online courses, benefit from the help.
The ADBU's 45 courses in various streams will be covered by the scholarship programme, which will be funded by a combination of internal reserves, business partnerships, and government donations, according to Mr Mavely.
