Forest Ranger Selection Criteria
(a) Test Pattern as conducted by The State Public Service Commission:-
Written Exam: GK, English, and Math Preliminary Exam Main Exam: Two optional subjects, which could differ from state to state.

The following is the standard of exams for the Preliminary Examination in General Knowledge, General English, and Mathematics.
(ii) Physical Fitness
Candidates who pass the written examination (Main Examination) must meet the following physical standards and undergo the following tests as prescribed by the Orissa Forest Service, Class-II (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1984, as amended from time to time.
(a) Minimum standards for height and chest girth for a candidate shall be as under:-

(b) Candidates must pass a physical test: 25 km walk for males and 16 km walk for females in 4 hours.
