CBSE Directs Schools To Use PM eVidya Channel 15, Shares Carefully Curated Educational Videos

New Delhi:The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all affiliated schools to actively leverage the PM eVidya CBSE Channel 15 to enhance classroom instruction and improve student learning outcomes. In a circular issued on January 7, 2026, the Board said the channel hosts carefully curated academic and teacher-training content aligned with the CBSE curriculum.

Launched in 2024, the PM eVidya initiative delivers supplementary educational support through 200 DTH television channels, with CBSE assigned Channel 15. The channel currently features 67 educational e-videos for Classes 9 to 11, along with modules focused on teacher pedagogy. Subjects covered include Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, alongside themes such as experiential learning, storytelling-based teaching, assessment strategies, cyber safety, and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

CBSE said the initiative aims to promote equitable access to quality education by reaching learners regardless of geographical or socio-economic barriers. The content is telecast repeatedly and is also available on YouTube, allowing students to learn at their own pace while enabling teachers to seamlessly integrate digital resources into lesson planning and classroom practices.

According to the Board, all e-videos have been developed in collaboration with subject matter experts and adhere to national guidelines for educational television content. To expand outreach and accessibility, the videos are also hosted on the CBSE TV Channel on YouTube.

CBSE has directed school principals and heads to ensure the required infrastructure is in place, as outlined in its June 2024 circular, and to inform teachers and students about the availability of the content. Schools have been encouraged to use the videos for enrichment, revision, and remedial learning.

The Board has also invited experienced educators and resource persons to contribute to the creation of additional high-quality e-videos in coordination with the respective Centres of Excellence.
