CBSE Introduces Comic Books to Teach Income Tax Concepts to Students

ree

New Delhi:In an innovative move to promote financial literacy among students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has collaborated with the Income Tax Department to introduce comic books that make learning about taxes engaging and fun.

Under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, the Directorate of Public Relations, Publication and Publicity, Directorate of Income Tax, has published a set of eight comic books. The series features the beloved cartoon characters Motu and Patlu and aims to help schoolchildren understand the importance of paying taxes and the role of the Income Tax Department in national development.

The comics are available in multiple Indian languages and can be accessed at https://incometaxindia.gov.in/Pages/comic-books.aspx.

CBSE has encouraged all affiliated schools to share these resources widely among students, teachers, and parents. Schools have also been advised to integrate relevant comic content into awareness activities to foster a culture of tax awareness and informed citizenship.

Meanwhile, CBSE has also announced the schedule for board practical exams, project assessments, and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 in winter-bound schools for the academic session 2025–26. As per the board’s notification, the session will commence on January 1, 2026, for schools in India and abroad. Given that winter-bound schools remain closed in January, the practical and internal assessments will be conducted from November 5 to December 6, 2025.
