New Delhi:Delhi’s young taekwondo athletes delivered a spectacular performance at the National Taekwondo Championships, winning multiple medals and underlining the capital’s growing dominance in the sport.

Leading the charge was Nitya Goswami, who put up a commanding display to win the gold medal in the Under-47 kg category, emerging as one of the top performers of the tournament. Her confident technique and tactical maturity earned her the highest honour in a fiercely competitive field.
Adding to Delhi’s medal tally, Arohi Lakhchaura secured a bronze medal in the Under-20 kg category, while Tisha Thareja also stepped onto the podium with a bronze medal in the Under-18 kg category.
Both athletes showed grit and resilience in closely fought bouts against strong national contenders.

Coaches and officials lauded the young athletes for their dedication and discipline, noting that such achievements reflect the steady progress of taekwondo training programmes in Delhi.

The strong showing by Delhi’s children at the championships has raised expectations for future national and international competitions.
The event was organised in the national capital, where BJP legislator and former Manipur Rural Development Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday inaugurated the 39th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi and 14th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium.
