Education Minister launches NCERT curriculum-based comic books for Classes 3 to 12

The books were written by CBSE-affiliated school teachers and developed by NCERT based on the CBSE curriculum. The aim of this initiative is to increase children's social and cultural awareness through education. More than 100 curriculum-based comic books aligned to chapters of NCERT textbooks were launched by Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank' on Wednesday. The books were written by CBSE-affiliated school teachers and developed by NCERT based on the CBSE curriculum. The aim of this initiative is to increase children's social and cultural awareness through education.

The comic books cover 16 subjects and are appropriate for students in grades 3 through 12. Each comic book is divided into short chapters that are accompanied by worksheets. They are accompanied by application-based examples to help students grasp the concepts, and some of the chapters address gender sensitivity, women's empowerment, and value education.

According to the CBSE, comic books have “ushered in the transition of education to personalised learning, as twenty-first-century schooling focuses on awareness, abilities, behaviours, beliefs, and transformative competencies that produce holistic learners.”
