Exams: Jamia to conduct online exams in the open-book format in January

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) announced that both undergraduate and postgraduate students would be conducting online exams using the open-book process in January.

The Academic Council (AC) of the University agreed to hold semester exams in mid-January using the open-book system a few weeks after the cancellation of plans to hold semester exams in a regulated manner, where students are monitored by an authorised, impartial individual (proctor) who ensures the identification of the test taker and retains the identity of the test taker. The varsity said that mock tests will be conducted before the final date sheet is out.

“The University will conduct proper mock tests to make students familiar with the format. Also, all issues faced by the students will be fixed before the actual exams. The University will soon release further guidelines,” said Ahmed Azeem, university media coordinator.

The AC has also decided to upload the individual scores of students online.
