Jammu Promotes Tribal Youth To Technological, Industrial Advancement


To expose tribal youth to the technological and industrial advancement that have taken place in different states of the country with focus on various developmental activities, skill development, educational and employment opportunities available there, 13th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme was inaugurated at Saraswati Dham by Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu, in collaboration with Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Around 200 tribal Youth from Maharashtra, Odisha and Jharkhand are the part of the Tribal Youth Exchange Programme, which will continue till April 5, 2022.


Bharat Bhushan, DDC Chairman Jammu, who was the Chief Guest of the programme, addressed the gathering of the Youth.

He said such youth exchange programme enables youth from different regions to interact, share knowledge and exchange ideas. He further added that Government of India was focused on Youth development, if youth are empowered their future will be secured which in turn will make the nation stronger.


The Guest of Honour, Alka Sharma, Under Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India highlighted the importance of Tribal Youth Exchange programme. “We have to put Left Wing Extremist to end’ she said. Encouraging the tribal Youth, she said that they have got an opportunity to see this beautiful place and to learn something worthwhile, and life style the people depicting socio economic & Cultural development.

She advised the tribal youth to share their experiences on returning back to their states and spread the message of peace, goodwill and of making united efforts for the progress and development of the nation.

Musheer Ahmed, Director, Tribal Affairs, J&K Govt. in his address, requested the Ministry that they should also hold such programmes for the tribal youth of J&K so that they may also go to other states and have the wonderful learning experience.

State Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan J&K, elaborated the Schedule of the programme and also enumerated the places where the participants would be taken to. He asked the participants to use this opportunity to represent their home state and share their culture while learning about and embracing a new one, forging the way to become young ambassadors for peace.
