New Delhi, June 14 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 today. Out of the 22,09,318 candidates who appeared for the medical entrance exam this year, 12,36,531 have qualified—continuing the trend of female candidates outperforming their male counterparts.
This year, 7,22,462 female candidates qualified the examination, surpassing 5,14,063 male candidates. A total of 13,10,062 girls registered for NEET UG 2025, with 12,71,896 appearing for the exam. In contrast, 9,65,996 boys registered, of which 9,37,411 appeared.
The results reflect a similar trend seen in 2024, when 7,69,277 female candidates qualified as compared to 5,46,566 males. That year, 24,06,079 students registered for the exam. However, overall registrations have dropped in 2025, with 22,76,069 students signing up.
NEET UG remains one of the largest entrance exams in India, serving as the gateway for undergraduate medical and dental admissions across the country. The exam was conducted earlier this year, and the results are now available on the official NTA website — nta.ac.in and neet.ntaonline.in.
With the declaration of results, the counselling process for admission to MBBS and BDS courses will begin shortly under the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and respective state authorities.
