NID Opens Registration for DAT 2026; Apply by December 1

The National Institute of Design (NID) has begun the registration process for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2026, the gateway to its prestigious B.Des and M.Des programmes for the academic year 2026–27. Applications are available online at admissions.nid.edu and must be submitted by December 1, 2025 (11:59 PM). The DAT Prelims will be conducted on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Programmes Offered
Bachelor of Design (B.Des): NID Ahmedabad, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Assam
Master of Design (M.Des): NID Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru
Eligibility Criteria
B.Des: Students who have completed or are appearing for Class 12 (10+2) in 2024–25 across any stream—Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities—are eligible.
M.Des: Candidates must hold either:
A bachelor’s degree or four-year diploma after Class 12 from a recognised institution, or
A bachelor’s degree of at least three years in any discipline after Class 12 or equivalent.

Sign up and log in to complete the application form.
Fill in personal and academic details.
Upload documents (photograph, signature, caste/PwD certificate, passport if applicable).
M.Des applicants must also provide work experience details.
Pay the application fee online.
Download and print the confirmation slip.
The DAT Prelims are the first stage of admission to one of India’s leading design institutes. Aspiring designers are encouraged to register early to avoid last-minute technical issues.
