NIFT Mumbai Celebrates Creativity and Innovation at Graduation Show 2025


Mumbai, June 2025 — The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai recently celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2025, with a vibrant showcase of student talent and innovation at its campus. A total of 317 students were conferred degrees during the ceremony, which featured a series of fashion shows unveiling their final design collections.

The Graduation Show 2025 was a culmination of years of rigorous training, academic learning, and creative exploration. Students presented diverse collections that explored themes such as familial bonds, spiritual inspiration, fantasy, architectural influences, and personal narratives — each display echoing the individuality and vision of its creator.

Mr. Khushal Jangid, Director of NIFT Mumbai, highlighted the holistic education provided at the institute, noting that students are not only trained in design and technology but also imbued with team spirit, professionalism, and real-world industry exposure. “NIFT prepares students to seamlessly integrate into the dynamic fashion industry,” he said. He also pointed to government initiatives like Start-up India and Make in India as potential springboards for entrepreneurial graduates.

The multi-event graduation showcase was inaugurated by Roop Rashi, IA&AS, CEO of KVIC, alongside Mr. Jangid and senior faculty members.

Prominent figures from the Indian fashion and design ecosystem graced the event, each inaugurating dedicated shows for different design disciplines:

  • Fashion Management Graduation Show “The Bottomline 2025” was opened by Kailash Bhatia (Founder, Burnt Umber Fashions), Seema Kakkar (Managing Director, Remanika Apparels), and Alia Allana (Founder, Journey of Objects).

  • Fashion Design Graduation Show “Fashionova 2025” was inaugurated by renowned designer Archana Kochhar and Nelson Jaffery, Design Head, Birla Cellulose.

  • Masters of Design Graduation Show “D-Dots 2025” was launched by Sharmila J Dua, Professor & Former Dean, NIFT (Retd.).

  • Textile Design Show “Tantu 2025” saw its ribbon cut by Latika Khosla, Founder Director, Freedom Tree Design Studio.

  • Knitwear Design Show “Knitmoda 2025” was inaugurated by Chinraj R, CEO & COO, Suditi Industry.

  • Accessory Design Show “Taocean 2025” featured inaugurations by Ravi Mahamuni (TCS Research), Aprajita Toor (Founder, Aprajita Toor Official), and Niti Gourisaria (Head of Design, The Great Eastern Home, Mumbai).

  • Fashion Communication Show “Communique 2025” was opened by Meher Castelino (Fashion Journalist), Padma Shri Achyut Palav (Calligrapher and Educator), and Shibani Jain (Founder, Baaya Design).

  • Fashion Technology Show “Technova 2025” was inaugurated by Neeraj Nagpal (Chief Business Officer, Apparel & Retail, Raymond Lifestyle) and Kaushlendra Narayan (Director of Operations, Silver Spark Apparel, a Raymond Initiative).

With leaders from the industry, academia, and design in attendance, the event stood as a powerful testament to NIFT Mumbai’s role in shaping the next generation of Indian fashion professionals. The Graduation Show 2025 not only marked the conclusion of an academic journey but also heralded the beginning of many promising careers poised to redefine fashion and design in India and beyond.
