The Minister of Education has released a 'Financial Literacy Workbook' for Class 6 students.



The ‘Financial Literacy Workbook' for Class 6 pupils was inaugurated by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank' on Tuesday. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Payments Corporation of India collaborated on the book (NPCI).


Mr Pokhriyal remarked, "I am delighted to present the 'Financial Literacy Workbook' for pupils in Class 6." I am glad to share that our young children will now obtain information on basic financial concepts, insights about digital payments, and much more through the newly published Financial Literacy Workbook for Class 6 Students, curated by CBSE and NPCI.


According to the CBSE, the book will be utilised in the “Financial Literacy” elective class for Class 6.

“This book will aid in the development of student interest in banking and payments, as well as the examination of their relevance in today's world. It will also assist students and teachers in comprehending the history of banking, the move from coins to paper money, the many types of banks, and the most important activities and services.


“The book is divided into four units and covers critical topics in financial awareness, ranging from basic financial concepts such as currency, security, savings, and investments, UPI, RuPay Cards, Wallets, to more advanced concepts such as IMPS, USSD, NACH, PoS, mPoS, QR Codes, and ATMs,” it continued.
